Description

Originally, the chrome plated steel half-moon plates were available from 1940 and upward. Initially, for Harley-Davidson the plates were a five-hole bolt pattern (…3- 1/16″… 2- 15/16″… 2- 15/16″… 3- 1/16″) up to and through 1947 (up to serial number 10050), then later became a four-hole bolt pattern in 1947. Once changed to four-hole, the hole spacing was… 3.280″ – 3.250″ – 3.280″ (Item #0176) then changed some time after this, (1952?), to the following spacing… 3 3/16″ – 3 11/16″ – 3 3/16″ (Item #0189).

1940 was also the first year for Glo-Brite Fasteners.

Our plates are fabricated from 14 gauge 316 stainless steel and mirror polished for a shiny chrome look. Plates are exact stamped as OEM. We offer the five-hole plates, five-hole accessory plate (to be used on leather mounting plates to add durability), and both four-hole mounting plates for Harley-Davidson.

We also offer the four-hole demountable (twist-on/twist-off knob) mounting plates for Indian and Buco Saddlebags.

Mounting plates are always included with an order of saddlebags. Otherwise, sets of mounting plates can be purchased as their own item. Acorn mounting bolts must be ordered separately.
