The Deluxe Solo Seat with Fringed 1-Piece Skirt is a “period aftermarket” solo seat that was offered for both the Indian and the Harley-Davidson markets from about the mid-1940s to the 1950s.

One of the really cool things that we do for our customers is to have a contrasting color of stitching as well. However, our colors right now are limited to Black, White, Yellow and Red. For an extra charge we can dye the thread other colors as well, but I would strongly advise to call, if you are interested in this.

The welting can be reasonably any color you would like. However, we sometimes ask the customer to send us the colored material to make the piping if it is not one of the basic “8 colors” of the color wheel.

There are many, many different styles of “spotting” around the bottom edge of the skirt. (Spotting is the chrome or nickel studs added as decoration)

Fringe length and color are another area with many variations. Some people want no fringe, while a row of 4” comes stock. Others desire a single row of 6” or 8” fringe, and others wish to have a double row of… 4”/6” or 6”/8” fringe. (Longer than stock 4” is an extra charge.)While most of the time the fringe is the same color as the leather seat or the skirt, this too can be a different color as well. Think double row fringe that the longer back row is darker, and the front shorter row of fringe is lighter. This really makes the seat a “One of a Kind” custom artwork for your bike.

Again, the thickness of the foam is normally 1.5. However, if you desire thinner, we can accommodate you. Although 1.5 is the normal thickness, we can do 2” foam, but be advised that 2” foam is not necessarily more comfortable just because it is thicker. 1.5” has been found to be the most comfortable for these seats.

The Deluxe Solo Seat with Fringed 1-Piece Skirt is a “period aftermarket” solo seat that was offered for both the Indian and the Harley-Davidson markets from about the mid-1940s to the 1950s. This seat offers a larger 1-piece skirt with the option of adding a concho, rosette, and tassel on either side of the skirt. Generally, these seats were offered in black with white trim. Occasionally, a black one with red trim may be found.

We currently offer these seats with limited in-stock availability, and can produce them as ordered. They are created with several regular variations available with color, stitching, a stock concho/rosette/tassel, and spotting on the skirt of the seat. We make all of these seats with thicker 1.5″ foam cushion, and 4″ fringe on the skirt. This seat is highly customizable, and you should contact us directly to have your seat made if you want to make it unique.
