SS1 Natural Oiled

SS1 “Natural Oiled”

Here is a natural 1000-N that has been oiled once. We spray oil the seats as there is less waste of oil, and you get a more consistent coverage also. This is the way the seats from Indian came from the Factory. Oiled, not dyed, with age, it did turn colors, and even then, not all seats were the same color naturally. Some leather was almost a pinkish color, to a yellow, to a light tan, to almost a light brown. Natural leathers come as varied as people colors. The color of natural oiled or dyed finished items will vary from piece to piece due to the nature of leather. I cannot, nor will I guarantee an exact match in any color to any items pictured anywhere on this site.

SS2 Sunburst Saddle-Tan

SS2 “Sunburst Saddle-Tan”

This is the same seat; only a light spray of Saddle Tan die was sprayed on it. This will give it a more traditional color as to what most people have come to expect this type of seat is supposed to look like. I enjoy doing this, though, my hands and fingers also turn a light tan due to overspray. The color of natural oiled or dyed finished items will vary from piece to piece due to the nature of leather. I cannot, nor will I guarantee an exact match in any color to any items pictured anywhere on this site.

SS3 Sunburst British Tan

SS3 “Sunburst British Tan”

I have dyed this seat twice now, once with the Saddle Tan, and now with British Tan. The contrast in the dye color brings out the seat’s beauty. If you have noticed, the Saddle Tan is an orange color, and the British Tan is a reddish color. British Tan looks a lot like the Red Chestnut that everybody loves. The color of naturally oiled or dyed, finished items will vary from piece to piece due to the nature of leather. I cannot, nor will I guarantee an exact match in any color, to any items pictured, anywhere on this site.

SS4 Sunburst Dark Brown

SS4 “Sunburst Dark Brown”

This is the seat finished with a very dark brown along the edges and then black along the rolled-over edge and underneath. This is the most beautiful type of seat that I have built! I finished this seat with a clear sealant that added shine. I just hadn’t had time to polish the seat to get that hand-rubbed look that comes with use. This seat and all of the dyed seats, with use, will lighten up a bit, but then, with age and sunlight, they will start darkening up again. The color of natural oiled or dyed finished items will vary from piece to piece due to the nature of leather. I cannot, nor will I guarantee an exact match in any color to any items pictured anywhere on this site.

SS5 Lightly Sunburst Brown

SS5 “Lightly Sunburst Brown”

Here is a natural Harley solo seat that the customer had asked for it to be dyed, a light Sunburst Brown. These seats, which are done this way, just amaze me at how they finish out. Each one is different, each one is totally beautiful.

Our history is rooted in the indomitable American spirit & hard work.

Heather’s Leathers is a small business in rural South Carolina. We have been doing business since 1986, building antique motorcycle seats and saddlebags to original factory or custom specifications. The owner and founder, Wayne Hagler, began as a one-man show in the garage of his rural home, taking and filling orders as they came in. Since then, we have grown to support several employees and a much larger workshop, with a stock selection and continuing the process of expanding.

When it comes to quality, reputable leather goods for your Harley Davidson or Indian antique motorcycles, we have highly skilled leather smiths working on your orders, personally trained by Wayne. They work alongside him on your seat or saddlebag order, with his 40+ years of experience and industry knowledge, passing those benefits to the customer through what we create.

We take pride in hand-crafting each seat & saddle bag order.

We are a small business working by hand, so we ask for your patience when placing your orders since we do not automate the production process. This business is rooted in faith. Because of our beliefs, we don’t work on Sundays and try to take most Saturdays off. You can find us at the shop from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the exception of Wednesday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
