Custom Leather Color Disclaimer:

We attempt to provide web images of our leather products that closely match their natural colors. Please see the Color Catalog menu, to see or select some of our custom dye colors. Due to the different color settings of many computer monitors, we cannot guarantee that the color you see on your monitor will exactly match what you receive. Even if all monitors displayed the same colors, due to the nature of leather tanning processes, there are slight differences between the batches of leather we receive from the tannery.

The colors and shades of leather are subject to change, even on the same hide. As I tell people, look at yourself in the mirror; are you the same color all over? No? Neither are cows. The tan typically stays the same per hide; however, the semi-naked leathers change from edge to middle to edge and from head to back to tail. This is natural, and they call it a marble effect. Genuine vegetable-tanned leather can and will change colors as it ages, so expect that. Generally, it changes to the darker, rarely if ever lighter, unless you do not take care of your leathers and never oil or condition them.

Motorcycle brand names are provided for reference only. Products on this webpage are not licensed or endorsed by any listed motorcycle manufacturers.

Deposits on Orders, Core Seat Pans:

If you are purchasing a seat from Heather’s Leathers, we will need one of the following if your order is for saddle bags or another non-seat item. A $200 deposit paid by credit card, PayPal, or by check at the time of your order. In the case of a check payment, we will queue your order once the check is received, deposited and funds cleared.

If you are ordering a seat, we can accept your core seat pan to build on, conditional upon visual approval. This could include any Indian, Harley Davidson seat pan or other make of seat pan that is in usable condition. Please remember that we expect a solo seat pan for a solo seat build, a buddy or a chummie seat pan for a 2-up seat build. If we cannot use your seat pan, we will either send it back to you, or we can dispose of it. In general, we collect a deposit of $200 in place of a core seat pan when your order is placed. Deposits on product orders are non-refundable.

Terms of Payment:

We accept all major credit cards over the phone or in person, PayPal, or personal domestic checks or cash in-person. We no longer accept money orders, cashier’s checks, or CODs! All orders pre-paid by personal check will be held for 10 business days for the check(s) to clear.

Typically, we collect a deposit (in place of a seat pan/core) when applicable. We then complete your product order, total the order with shipping charges included, and collect the balance upon order completion.

All orders outside the United States must be paid with PayPal, with no exceptions.

There are no exceptions to these payment terms.

Information We Collect:

When purchasing a product from Heather’s Leathers, we ask you for the following information: name, address, daytime phone number, e-mail address, and shipping address. This information is used to process your order and, if necessary, contact you for help when processing an order. All information we collect is stored in a secure, electronically locked database. The e-mail addresses or phone numbers are to inform our customers when we receive their order and when the order is shipped.

We do not store credit card numbers.

Rush Charges:

Rush charges will apply if you need us to accelerate your order toward the front of the production schedule. The minimum rush order charge is $100.00, or 25%, whichever is greater in addition to your order total. Note that this is a minimum! It can go up depending upon circumstances at the time of the request.

Shipping to Heather’s Leathers:

When shipping items to Heather’s Leathers, we suggest insuring your package to the maximum value in case of loss or damage. Please include your return shipping address, daytime telephone number, and an itemized list and description of parts (even if only one item) in case of damage caused during shipping. We cannot know if the shipment is complete without an itemized list.

Please do not send any parts such as: nuts, bolts, washers, or other small items which are unnecessary for building your product. We will not guarantee the return of these small items.

Heather’s Leathers will not be held responsible for parts lost in disposed packaging. If there is a discrepancy between your packing list and what was found in the box, you will be contacted as soon as possible. Heather’s Leathers will not be liable for incoming damage due to negligence in packaging or shipping.

Shipping from Heather’s Leathers:

We inspect all merchandise before shipment, and we will attempt to send a photo of your product before we ship it for most custom orders to obtain visual approval from the customer. If there is any damage from shipping, claims become the carrier’s responsibility. The recipient must claim damages with the carrier, not Heather’s Leathers.

Typically, Heather’s Leathers uses UPS Ground for all our domestic shipping and United States Postal Service for our small items being shipped domestically. International shipments, including Canada, will be shipped through United States Postal Service International Express Mail only. You must provide Heather’s Leathers with a pre-paid label if you would have us ship with a different carrier.

Please note: Heather’s Leathers determines your order’s most efficient shipping carrier when selecting standard shipping. Some shipments may require a street address, where a P.O. Box may not be sufficient.

Duties and Taxes:

Domestic shipments within South Carolina, USA are required to pay a 7% sales tax. There are no exceptions. Shipments outside of South Carolina, USA are not required to pay South Carolina sales tax at this time.

International orders are subject to the duties and taxes of the recipient’s country. The recipient must pay their country’s applicable duties, taxes, and other fees. The total value will be noted on shipping documents; we will not claim a lower value. Please contact your customs office for information on duties, taxes, and restricted items.

Return Policy:

If you are not completely satisfied with your purchase, you may return regular orders of period-correct and motorcycle factory-correct specified products within 30 days of receipt in their original packaging and in new, unused condition for exchange or credit only (excluding custom orders). Credit issued will not include original shipping and insurance charges and will deduct a restocking fee of 20% on all returned merchandise. We reserve the right to choose not to accept a return for any reason, especially if the product has been at all damaged or worn. While our policies are firm for obvious reasons, we will do everything possible to work with you and ensure a positive experience. No returns will be accepted after 30 days from the date of shipment.

The customer is responsible for providing a copy of the receipt when returning the item(s), with shipping and insurance pre-paid, to the total retail amount to Heathers Leathers, 943 Enon Church Rd. Under no circumstances will any refunds be issued on any custom seat, saddle bags, etc. or any other work performed as most of the cost for custom work is the cost of additional labor. Custom orders are considered final and cannot be returned or exchanged.

A custom order is an order of a product which is not built to period correct and motorcycle factory correct specifications but built to custom specifications. Custom products will include any natural leather that is spray-dyed to customer preference. If in doubt, please call, and we can review your purchase on a case-by-case basis as exceptions are rare and only considered when the custom product is grossly unmatched to customer’s design specifications.

Heather’s Leathers will not be held accountable nor responsible for the placement, fit, mounting, and function after you receive your product, this is left solely up to the customer. Heather’s Leathers is not responsible for any refund or exchanges if any modifications have been attempted or performed to any product which Heather’s Leathers has supplied. Additionally, fitting or mounting of any of the antique motorcycle seats, saddle bags, or other products which are pre-1965 to any post-1965 motorcycles, of any make is considered attempted modification, which are the sole responsibility of the customer and will not be refunded, or accepted as a returned item.

Product Misuse Policy:

Heather’s Leathers return policy requires that if the product is not satisfactory, (this will include, but will not be limited to damaged or defective products) the customer should notify the company as soon as possible within 30 days of the purchase. It is the responsibility of the customer to ensure proper fitting and/or mounting of the product purchased, this may include having a professional install the product if the customer does not have the experience or knowledge to do so.

If injury or other damage to property or person(s) occurs due to misuse, the customer is responsible for all contributory negligence (the customer’s own actions or lack of actions caused the injury), assumption of risk (the consumer knew about the defect but continued to use the product anyway), and any other product misuse, or alterations performed on the product which were not performed by Heather’s Leathers.

Heather’s Leathers cannot be held liable for parts used in any manner other than originally intended or improperly installed. The customer is hereby further notified and warned that Heather’s Leathers assumes no obligation to perform any type of metallurgical or laboratory testing of the materials on which the work is to be performed or has been performed upon, or services have been rendered for hidden or non-obvious conditions, cracks, tensile strength, elasticity or otherwise, all such testing and disclosures being the sole responsibility and obligation of the customer.

Abandoned Products or Property:

Heather’s Leathers will not keep customers’ completed products beyond (30) thirty days without incurring a storage charge of $1.00 a day from the point of job completion, with a minimum of $30.00 to be added to the final invoice as a storage charge. Items will continue to incur charges for up to 90 days without hearing from said customer(s). Any product or customer property abandoned at Heather’s Leathers for over 90 days will be considered the property of Heather’s Leathers. The items will then be made available for selling, trading, or will be disposed of. Work and storage space is at a premium, and it will be guaranteed that any abandoned property will not be here after 90 days without contact from said customer.

Disclosure of Information Policy:

We never share your contact information with any other companies or organizations.

Quantity Orders:

Quantity pricing is available for orders with greater than 4 seats and/or saddle bags being ordered. Quantity pricing is applied on items requested in a written purchase order and a partial pre-payment/deposit must accompany quantity orders. Expect an extended time to prepare the order for shipment. Quantity orders are non-refundable.

Wholesale/Dealer Pricing:

You must be in business with or as one of the following: Motorcycle Dealer, Motorcycle Repair, Motorcycle Aftermarket Parts & Sales, or Motorcycle Manufacturer. You must have a business telephone listing under your current business name to receive dealer pricing.

A new dealer will have to purchase a minimum quantity of 4 seats and/or saddlebags to receive dealer pricing.

South Carolina businesses must complete and sign a South Carolina business certificate (available upon request), or sales tax will be charged – no exceptions.

Dealers, we can drop ship to your customer. You will be required to pay for shipping.
